A box body is a special body with solid walls in the form of a closed box on a vehicle.
There are different types of box bodies depending on the type of use. The box can be made of simple plywood walls, aluminum, or plastic. The box bodies are suitable for many different applications. For example, insulated thermal cases for temperature-controlled transports or clothing cases in textile logistics. In trucks, the body is spatially separated from the driver’s cab. However, smaller vans with the box body also have variants with access to the driver’s cab, for example delivery vehicles of parcel services.
A tautliner is a type of trailer that is equipped with a side curtain. Due to the movable lateral stanchions and the sliding tarpaulin, a tautliner enables easy and comfortable loading and unloading both at the rear as well as the side.
The concept's basic aim is being able to use the entire area of the side walls for loading and unloading the trailers in addition to the rear wing doors. This goal is achieved by curtain-type side walls that can be opened and closed smoothly.
A flatbed truck is a type of truck with rigid design. It has a back body that is flatly shaped for easy loading and unloading of goods. The flatbed truck is mostly used to transport heavy, oversized, wide and indelicate goods such as machinery, building supplies or equipment.
Due to the truck open body, the goods transported with it must not be vulnerable to rain.
